The visual realism break thankfully doesn't extend to actual gameplay. Compared to NFL 15, there's a very definite sense of scripted individuals rather than natural movement. The only visual aspect that let the game down was the pre-match line-up, where players seemed to move like robots. There was some nice banter about Liverpool and Man City being rivals for the top spot and it complemented the stadium realism. Not only do they reference topical developments off the pitch, but they also seem to have a good reading of the match. I can't mention the audio without going back to the commentators.

The audio is also wonderfully responsive, with the mood changing after a series of terrible Liverpool play (my fault!) "You'll Never Walk Alone" gets sung in bursts, but mixed to the point where you wouldn't pick it out as a separate track. Little visual details like the "This is Anfield" sign are a nice touch, but the real star was the audio. The pre-match info-graphics have a very familiar feel and you could be excused for thinking you're about to watch a live match.Īnfield really grabbed my attention. There are obviously a number of comments tailored for certain players. The commentary was flawless, with no hint of overly generic audio. Martin Tyler and Alan Smith took on the role of commentators for our first match, with the Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend partnership also available. The whole pre-match presentation is impressive.
